User Manual of Experience Chinese Lesson in Second Life
A、Get an Account
from Second Life You need a Second Life account and the client software to get access to the Virtual Living Lab. Follow the instructions below and go discovering an unexpected virtual world that you have never explored before! Get a free Second Life account Visit https://join.secondlife.com/, follow the instructions (3 simple steps), and get a free Second Life account!! 1. First, choose your starting look and name, and then offer your information to create an account.
2. After creating an account, your will receive an email for confirmation. You have to open the email and click the link which says “CLICK HERE TO ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT”. 3. Wait until the process ends. You will be asked to start the program immediately or not, and it’s up to you. There are two ways to get access to

in your username and password that you register to log in on Second life.
After you log in with your username and
password, you will be placed in scenario as below screen capture
Click the 【Map button】 to start the 【World Map】
and search for “virtual living lab”

Moving and flying To move your
avatar, use arrow keys on your keyboard. In addition, you can hit E to start
flying and C to landing. You can also start flying using the bottom menu.

Inventory You can open inventory in the menu section On the left hand side are all the items and The right hand
side are the recently items.
3. Enlarge Object Place the cursor on the object you want to enlarge, just hit Alt on keyboard and move it upward. On the other hand, your can narrow the object by moving the mouse. You can use Esc to recover the screen
4. Touch You can click the left hand side of the
mouse or the right hand side of the object to view the menu and choose Touch.
Virtual Living Lab Procedure 1 The first mission is Stage 0 , you can touch the NPC and begin the mission.
2 Your first time at Virtual Living Lab If this is
your first time to use Virtual Living Lab, the NPC (Non-Player Character) on the
Stage will say: Welcome, you have not had an account in

3 Wear In order to get the mission object, you
can use inventory and click the right hand side of mouse and choose Wear

The number to process it When you see the green arrow which means this is the mission goods and you can use Touch to get it.
5 If you need to be teleported to where the next mission is, the NPC will say: Please teleport to the room. You can touch the transmit object to be teleported to next scenario.
6 When you complete the whole mission, the NPC will inform you “excellent, you have finished the whole mission D、Choose Any Scenario to Go Through Different Mission After registration, you can begin your mission. In our island, we have created four scenarios, such as airport, hotel, restaurant and street. You will need to get your mission map by clicking the information NPC andthis map while you go through the mission. (click the inventory→map right hand side mouse and choose wear). This map doesn’t only provide the scenario locations, but also different mission destinations. You can go to different mission destination by walking or clicking the map to teleport to next mission. In addition, if you have further question while you go through the mission, you can click the 《Help》on the map, you would find out a walkthrough instruction. After you get the gadget from information, you can take your time and complete mission from four scenarios. After you complete the mission from four scenarios, the system will ask you to submit the questionnaire in the last scenario. We are welcome people who are interested in learning Chinese to visit our island, therefore, we would encourage you invite your friends to join us. If the person whom you have invited joins us, you would receive the 10 bonus. More people you invited, you would receive more bonus. When you complete the registration, you would receive a Chinese lesson coupon. You can check the lesson schedule in from of the classroom and choose the suitable time and join the lesson. Before you take your lesson, you would need to click the NPC who stand in the classroom to make sure that you have joined the lesson. After you take the lesson, you would need to submit the lesson
questionnaire and receive 30 bonus.
